“Floating Islands”

Floating Islands is built to examine the materiality and scales of digital materials. Zooming into the scene, we can look at how digital materials are presented on the undulating landscapes on each island. Zooming out of the scene, the 3D model juxtaposes with Google street view suddenly becomes miniature. With different presets of lighting, the material itself is rendered differently despite the identical material setups.
